Application Tips & Ideas

What are One Up Wall Graphics?

One Up Wall Graphics are modern décor elements made out of a very thin, self-adhesive vinyl film.  Once applied, One Up Wall Graphics look like they have been painted on your wall.  The best part?  Since they are easily removable, you can change the look of a room at your every whim.

Is it easy to install One Up Wall Graphics?

All One Up Wall Graphics are easily applied within 30-60 minutes – the hardest part is figuring out where you want to put the graphics!  Please read the enclosed application instructions carefully or look over our illustrated Installation Instructions.  It is very important to make sure that whatever surface you choose is clean and dry – One Up Wall Graphics will not adhere well to dirty or wet surfaces.

Where should I put my One Up Wall Graphics?

Although they were designed to be installed on walls, don’t limit your One Up Wall Graphics to walls – these products can be installed on any smooth and dry surface, such as windows, ceilings, sealed floors, appliances, bathroom tiles, and mirrors. Please keep in mind that if your application surface is bumpy, the surface imperfections will be visible through the vinyl.  Strongly textured surfaces (such as stucco) and porous surfaces (fabric) are not recommended, nor are paper surfaces like wallpaper.  One Up Wall Graphics are not removable from paper products.

What should I do with One Up Minis™?

What can’t you do with them?  Install One Up Minis™ on walls in large groups as you would with a regular-sized One Up Wall Graphic or use them to decorate smaller items such as a bicycle or a laptop.  Since all One Up Minis™ are a little smaller than 4” x 4”, they are perfect to apply on standard tiles – you can now easily update the look of your bathroom or kitchen backsplash in minutes.  Although One Up Minis™ are resistant to heat and water once applied, please make sure that the surface is clean and dry before application.

Can I apply a One Up Wall Graphic to a recently painted wall?

Please allow time for your painted walls to fully cure before installing wall graphics (2-3 weeks).  If applied before the paint is cured, the water-based adhesive from the graphic could bond more strongly to the paint, potentially causing some paint to come off when decals are removed.

Can I apply One Up Wall Graphics to outdoor surfaces?

Go for it – our product is rated for up to 3 years of outdoor use (even longer for indoor use!). As with all applications, please make sure that your surface is clean and dry when you apply the graphic.

Can I apply One Up Wall Graphics on my car?

Although the wall graphics are rated for outdoor use as well as indoor use, we have a higher grade vinyl that we prefer to sell for vehicle applications.  Please contact us to get any of our designs or a custom product for vehicle application.

How do you remove One Up Wall Graphics?

Removal is a snap – peel up an edge with your fingernail or a sharp tool, then slowly peel the decal off the wall, pulling back slowly at a sharp angle (180º).  In general, it will take more effort to remove graphics from less porous, hard surfaces.  For applications on hard surfaces such as glass, tile, or concrete floors, you may want to use a hairdryer (set on LOW) to gently heat the graphic, releasing the adhesive on the decal and making it easier to peel up.

Will One Up Wall Graphics take off paint when removed?

In general, One Up Wall Graphics are removable with no damage to surfaces.  However, the condition of some painted surfaces (old, new, matte or satin finish, etc) and the location of the installed graphic (outdoor, indoor, in direct sunlight or near extreme temperatures) are the determining factors of whether some paint flecking could occur.  Depending on a combination of these factors, minor paint touch-ups could be required after removal of One Up Wall Graphics.  One Up Designs is not liable for possible damage to surfaces.
